Ohio Citizens For The Arts

North America, USA, OH, Columbus, 77 S High St Columbus Ohio 43215

Ohio Citizens for the Arts Foundation, a 501(c)3 organization, was founded to leverage funds and support for the arts and arts education statewide. The Foundation is led by a Board of Directors and professional staff.

The Ohio Arts Council was created in 1965 to "foster and encourage the development of the arts and assist the preservation of Ohio's cultural heritage." This is accomplished by the Council in two primary methods; first, through the various grant funding programs that the Council operates to provide support to artists and to make arts activities available to a broad segment of Ohio's public; and secondly, by providing services that help to enhance the growth of the arts. There are a total of 7 different grant programs and a variety of service programs operated by the Council.

The Oldest Gallery in the Short North Garden District!

We have called the Short North home since before it was the Short North! A lot can happen in 35 years. The neighborhoods have renovated, buildings have come down and even more have gone up. More and more galleries call the Short North home. We also have lots of restaurants, boutiques, salons and specialty stores of all types, with more on the way.

The north of the Short North is called the Short North Garden District and is where we are located now, after pioneering in the south part. Come visit us and our neighbors like Rivet, What the Rock!!, Out of the Closet, Revolution Cycles, Royal Atelier, Waxx Pot and Kifle. Have dinner at the Table or tacos at Condada. Catch the latest production at the Garden Theater then go have an espresso at the Short North Coffee House. You can make an afternoon of it or an evening!
